We engage, teach, coach and mentor young people in need of opportunities to develop their skills at school level, during tertiary education and after graduation through various learning opportunities within fields such as Pharmacy, Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Planning and Logistics.

Ideally, we would like to absorb, as far as possible, those who participate in our learning programmes into our organisation in order to leverage from the learning obtained as a learner.

Our Job shadowing programme caters for grades 11 and 12 pupils with interest in experiencing a day in our pharmaceutical / biotechnological manufacturing sector prior to embarking on their tertiary education journey in a related field.

Our most popular Learnership Programmes are the Pharmacist Assistant Chemical Operations and Supply Chain learnerships.

 Through our In-Service & Graduate Programmes we develop students and graduates through on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring as well as practical, real-life work experience.

Through our Bursary Programmes we provide sponsored education to eager young talent who show a true commitment to exceptional achievement.

Our HR department consists of a Chief Human Capital Officer, HR Manager, HR Officers as well as an Administrative Intern. They are responsible for the complete employee life cycle chain within Biovac.  This includes recruitment and selection, onboarding, performance management, training and development  and talent and succession planning.

The Finance division is made up of a range of different skills. We have Debtors and Creditors Clerks, Financial Controllers as well as a Section Head. Finance receives and process information from Procurement and administer payments of invoices.  They are also responsible for managing all expenses of the organisation.  Procurement is responsible for negotiation with potential suppliers and finalising preferred suppliers for Biovac.  They are also responsible for our tender process.

Project Managers, Systems Supervisors and Project Administrators are the key positions you would find in our PSO office. Once a new project is acquired, PSO is responsible for planning and implementation of the project by engaging with all stakeholders responsible for various aspect of delivery.

Our IT team is made up of an IT Manager and IT administrators. IT is responsible for servicing our hardware, software and all IT related equipment.

Within this department you will find the Head of Product Development, Group Leaders, Scientists, Technicians and Technologists who are focused on the development of vaccines and optimisation of processes and technologies.

Our Regulatory department consists of a RA Manager, Registration Pharmacist as well as a Pharmacovigilance Officer. Their key function is to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and to maintain and register new vaccines.

This team consists of local and export Sales/Account Managers and Sales support who are responsible for acquiring new business as well as Marketing and Sales of Vaccines to the public and private sector.

Our Production department division is split into Shared Services VLP & Formulation and Fill. The Formulation and Filling department manufactures and fills the product into vials.
Thereafter follows the visual inspection, labelling and packaging of the product.  Typical roles in Formulation and Filling and VLP include Production Technician, Production Pharmacist, Packer, Team Leader, Production Specialist and Machine Operator etc. 

QC is responsible for testing and ensuring that the product meets the required standard before the product is released.  Typical roles include QC Manager, Section Heads, Supervisors, QC Analysts, QC Inspectors and QC Admin.

Responsible for product releases, annual system reviews, all internal auditing as well as supplier and vendor audits.  Qualification and Validation form part of QA Operations.

Our QA team consists of QA Operations Officers, QA Release Pharmacists, QA Operations Section Head, QA Operations Manager, Qualification Scientists, Qualification Section Head, Validation Scientists and Validation Section Head.

The Engineering department is mainly responsible for maintenance and calibration of all equipment on site.  They are also responsible for the health and safety aspects at Biovac. Roles within Engineering include Engineering Manager, Maintenance and Calibration Section Head and Health and Safety (EHS) Section Head.

Receive and distribute all products and materials for Biovac.  Responsible for cold storage and delivery. Typical roles in this department are Supply Chain Manager,Planning Section Head, Planning Co-ordinator, Material Handling Supervisor, Material Handling Pharmacist, Material Handling Operators, Storeman, Invoice Clerk and Drivers.

The PA Executive co-ordinates various office support services, including purchasing and together with her team is responsible for facilities management. Ensuring facility and communication systems are maintained. Also responsible for Reception and the supervision of cleaning staff site wide.
